An example of this for a chain of retail outlets; the retail staff will use a Point-of-sale (POS) system every working day. To take payments, refund customers, manage stock inventory and so on. Whereas the role of IT Management would be the authorised buyer of the software, as part of their management of network and systems role. More interested in integration with exisiting business systems than how the product looks or what it's like to opperate.
Both parties within the same organisation view the same product at a different angle.
